Dr Bowes has great interest in Palliative Care

Bio

Dr Bowes graduated from the University of NSW in 1979. He worked for 2 years at the Royal Newcastle Hospital including over 12 months training in the Surgical sub-specialties of Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Ear Nose and Throat, Ophthalmology and Adult Surgery. Dr Bowes then spent 3 years in British hospitals working in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and finally for 18 months as a registrar in General Medicine, at Harold Wood Hospital, Essex. In this Medical Position, apart from general admissions, Dr Bowes conducted 3 diabetic clinics a week and after hours was responsible for both Coronary and Intensive Care.

Dr Bowes joined Hunters Hill Medical Practice in January 1984. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1986 and later acted as an examiner for the College Fellowship. Dr Bowes is involved in the teaching of final year medical students from Sydney University at Hunters Hill Medical Practice each May and November. Dr Bowes has great interest in Palliative Care, caring for dying patients in their homes or at Longueville Private Hospital, Longueville.
